What does the Master Gardener Foundation do? How is it different from the WSU Extension program?

Hidden beneath every healthy plant is a healthy root structure that supports, nourishes, and ties the plant to the earth. Behind every successful community activity, there's usually a group of committed people.

Kitsap County has one of the best Master Gardener programs any where, thanks to the partnership of Washington State University Kitsap Count Extension and the Master Gardener Foundation.

If you've ever talked to a Kitsap County Master Gardener at one of our diagnostic clinics, then you've seen our Foundation at work. Although WSU Extension provides the training and expertise for all certified master gardeners, our foundation provides funding for the clinics. If you've enjoyed the demo gardens at Anna Smith Children's Garden or the p-patches at Raab Park, you've also seen the foundation at work, because it's our fundraising that makes these activities possible, especially as government budgets shrink.
